More than 1 in 2 (55%) feel their money is safer with their bank than with Revolut or other fintech apps.

 

 

·      67% of adults have heard of Zippay with 37% of these knowing what it is and how it works.

 

 

  • If Zippay was available in their banking app, 62% are likely to use it with 18% of these very likely to use it.

 

o   This is highest for adults aged 45-54 with 68% likely to use it and 23% of these very likely.

 

  • Of those who use Revolut, 31% would consider switching from Revolut to Zippay for sending money with 8% of these saying they would fully switch.

 

 

  • 31% would be encouraged to switch to Zippay if their friends started using it, 27% would switch if it was with trusted Irish banks, and 26% say they would switch if it was easier to use.

 

 

  • 70% of adults think Revolut is more innovative than traditional Irish banks with 27% strongly agreeing.

 

 

  • 3 in 4 adults (75%) say that instant transfers is an appealing Zippay feature, 68% think the fact it is built into the banking app is appealing, and 65% think that because there is no need to top up it is an appealing feature.

 

  • 22% of adults feel they would need 30-40% of their contacts to be using Zippay before they adopt it regularly and 19% would need almost everyone to be using it before they switched.

 

  • More than 1 in 3 (39%) of adults feel that Irish banks are catching up with fintech apps like Revolut.
