With the increase of Covid-19 restrictions across the country, over half (51%) of adults in Ireland were impacted and changed their Staycation plans effecting bookings worth over €100 million.

 

iReach has surveyed adults in Ireland on whether they have had to cancel their Staycation plans due to the most recent lockdown. The nationwide survey ran between 20th October and 27th of October and received over 1,000 responses from adults on a nationally representative basis by Age, Gender and Region.

 

·        36% of households had to change their travel plans within Ireland due to the most recent Level 5 COVID-19 Lockdown.

 

·       254,800 adults in Ireland had to change the Staycation plans in Ireland due to the most recent lockdown, with an average booking deposit of €410 per booking, leading to a loss in spend on total bookings of €104,468,000.

 

·       15% of respondents lost money on deposits or bookings due to the cancellation of travel plans here and overseas.
