57% of those voting in the upcoming presidential election will vote for Michael D Higgins!

  • 72% of adults plan on voting in the upcoming presidential election
  • 51% think that public representatives don't care about ordinary peoples opinions
  • 51% of the population will watch and / or listen to the presidential debates


The presidential election is starting to heat up ahead of the vote on October 26.  In light of this, iReach Insights conducted a nationally representative survey on 1,000 adults in Ireland on the upcoming presidential election.

72% of adults in Ireland plan on voting in the presidential election. Of those planning to vote 57% plan to vote for Michael D Higgins.

When asked about political views, 64% stated that they have definite views on political issues and 78% try and vote in all elections held in Ireland.

Shockingly, 51% think that public representatives don't care about ordinary peoples opinions and only 1 in 5 think politicians are honest.

Half (51%) of the adult population will watch and / or listen to the presidential debates ahead of the presidential election
