Climate activist Greta Thunberg, who has been inspiring schools’ climate change protests and strikes all over the world, has predicted that “in 10 years from now we will be in a position where we set off an irreversible chain reaction beyond human control, that will most likely lead to the end of our civilization as we know it. That is unless in that time, permanent and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society have taken place.”

With this in mind, iReach Insights conducted a nationally representative survey on 1,001 adults in Ireland on their perception of the Irish weather and attitudes towards the debate on climate change.

79% believe that the weather is changing in Ireland. For example, many indicated that they have noticed that the seasons have become unstable (69%), and that they feel there has been an increase in extreme weather (66%), more flooding (40%), as well as warmer temperatures (37%).
