40% agree that they have to ‘make up for lost time’ by shopping more because retailers were closed and 56% agree that they have to make the most of places reopening in case there’s another full lockdown.

 

38% of all adults feel that the Level 5 restrictions have had a negative impact on their mental health.

 

iReach has surveyed adults in Ireland on their feelings of the Level 5 restrictions easing and their plans for the Christmas season. The nationwide survey ran between 3rd of December and 10th of December and received over 1,000 responses from adults on a nationally representative basis by Age, Gender and Region.

 

·       Nearly half (46%) of respondents are planning to meet up with friends and family in restaurants/cafes when they re-open. However, 41% still won’t go to a café or restaurant despite them re-opening.

 

 

·        38% agree that the Level 5 restrictions have had a negative impact on their mental health.

 

·       67% are making a conscious effort to support local businesses due to the impact of COVID-19, now that retailers have reopened.
